Backups you have never tested are not backups — they are hopes. We test our disaster recovery procedures monthly because your business data is not something we are willing to gamble on.
Backup Architecture
- Continuous WAL archiving for point-in-time recovery to any second
- Full database snapshots every 6 hours stored in a separate region
- File storage replicated across 3 availability zones
- Encrypted backups with keys stored in a separate key management system
- Backup retention: 30 days of daily snapshots, 12 months of weekly snapshots
Recovery Testing
Every month, we restore a randomly selected tenant from backup to a staging environment and verify data integrity. Our current Recovery Time Objective is under 2 hours, and our Recovery Point Objective is under 1 minute.
